V is my favorite

Project done for my Digital Media class. The assignment was to combine objects and images using digital methods in an interesting composition and respond to an event, a dream, a happening that stirs the mind, or emotions. So I chose to use a reoccurring dream of mine concerning blue butterflies.
Started with a bubble brush, added highlights and shadows to make it look more like a crystal ball. I then took a picture of my hand and photoshopped it to make it look like it was holding the glass ball. The image in the center of the orb is a scan of my face and the large butterfly in the top right-hand corner was a painting of mine I scanned.
Tools: Photoshop CS4, Wacom Tablet, Nikon D40, & HP scanner.
Last weekend, whilst taking pictures for Design class, I ended up in some field up at North Campus. Then, out of nowhere, these guys showed up all around me:

They came up really close to me without even noticing! It was awesome! I got some pretty good pictures of them before they all decided to scamper off into the woods. …But I couldn’t just let it end there so I followed them into the woods. Now, my curiosity is something that will get me into a lot of trouble someday… but THAT WASN’T THE DAY MWAHA.
I slid down some hill in the woods, walked through a stream, climbed down another hill, and found a nature trail. When I followed it I found this awesome ropes course in the middle of the woods along with some other neat/creepy things.
Some pieces from my UDel portfolio. These things helped me get into the Art Department apparently

My own personal project. Not sure where it’s going… BUT WE ALL HAVE OUR OWN DREAMS.

Just me being stupid and scannin' my face
Turns out scanners make good cameras too
